The Malpighi family

The origins of the Malpighi family, owners of the Tenuta del Cigno agricultural company , date back to 1200. An ancient and illustrious family of Bolognese origin, known since the 16th century, it owes its greatest glory to the luminous figure of Marcello Malpighi , an excellent doctor and anatomist.

Bocchetta Farm

In 1500, the Malpighi family inherited the “ Podere Bocchetta ” on the outskirts of Crevalcore (Bologna), the family's first rural settlement. In 1850, Acetaia Malpighi was founded in Modena , one of the oldest vinegar makers in the area: five generations of a family that has carried the tradition, passion, and secrets of a food and wine excellence of the Modena area, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP, to the present day.

The Swan Estate

In 1975, the Malpighi family founded the Tenuta del Cigno farm , which today also houses the Lavandeto , which has taken the name of “Podere Bocchetta” in memory of the past: 4 hectares of land for the cultivation of the first organic Modena® Lavender (the only and original from Modena, with a trademark registered by the farm in 2020) from which the line of organic, natural and hypoallergenic cosmetics is obtained.

In this new challenge, the Malpighi family continues to combine tradition and passion with creativity and the pursuit of excellence, celebrating artisanal products with a unique and authentic style, in true Emilian style.
